A post shared on Facebook claims multiple Howard University professors purportedly labeled 2024 Democratic nominee Vice President Kamala Harris as the “worst student ever.”

The claim is false and originally stems from a Sept. 10 article published on the satire website, “Esspots.com.”

A new Quinnipiac University poll places Harris ahead of 2024 Republican nominee and former President Donald Trump, according to The Hill. The same poll shows 50% support for Harris compared to 45% support for Trump, the outlet reported.

The Facebook post claims multiple Howard University professors purportedly labeled Harris as the “worst student ever.”

“Howard University Professors Confirm: ‘Kamala Was the Worst Student Ever,'” the post, which does not provide a source to support its claim, reads. Besides Facebook, the claim also circulated on X, the social media platform previously known as Twitter.

The claim is false and originally stems from a Sept. 10 article published on the satire website, “Esspots.com.” According to its “About” page, Esspots.com is a “subsidiary of SpaceXMania.com specializing in Satire and Parody News” and “your one-stop destination for satirical news and commentary about the United States of America.”

Likewise, the website’s “Disclaimer” page reiterates it is a “website that specializes in satire, parody, and humor. Before you proceed to read our content, we would like to emphasize that nothing on this website is real. All of the articles, stories, and commentary found on Esspots.com are entirely fictitious and created for the purpose of entertainment only,” it continues. According to the September 10 article, Howard University professors Gerald Barnes, Meredith Johnston, Franklin Davis, Judith Walters, and Dr. Leonard Clark each recalled their experiences having Harris as a student, saying she was the “worst student ever.”

In addition, Check Your Fact did not find the claim referenced on Harris’ 2024 campaign website or her verified social media accounts. Check Your Fact also did not find any credible news reports to support the claim. Actually, the opposite is true. On Sept. 17, Lead Stories reported the claim was false and originated from the same satire website.
